The Head of the state, once again congratulating Vladimir Putin on his reelection to the post of President of Russia, noted that relations of strategic partnership and alliance with Russia are a constant course of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy.

The current rate and scale of bilateral relations is evidenced by the fact that over the past year 70 mutual visits and 21 interregional meetings have been held. Over the past period of this year, the volume of trade between our countries has increased by more than 40 percent. There are still a lot of big projects ahead, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The President of Russia, expressing his joy of the meeting with the President of Uzbekistan, noted that many effective projects are being implemented in cooperation of the two countries.

After your last year’s visit to Russia, much has changed for the better. As a result of creation of a “green corridor” on your initiative, the volume of fruit and vegetable deliveries from Uzbekistan increased by almost 36 percent. Large investment projects are being implemented with participation of leading Russian companies, said Vladimir Putin.

It was noted that Lukoil invested more than $7 billion in Uzbekistan, in April of this year the Kandym Gas Processing Complex was put into operation, agreements were reached with the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom on further development of partnership and scientific-technical cooperation in energy sphere.

In autumn of this year, a highest-level visit to Uzbekistan is expected. It is also planned to hold the first inter-regional forum of Uzbekistan and Russia, in Tashkent.

At the meeting, the sides agreed to fill these important events with practical content, actively continue contacts between ministries, companies and regions.

Views were exchanged on international and regional issues of mutual interest.
