On July 6, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the invitation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, departed for this country to take part in solemn events timed to the 20th anniversary of Astana.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is developing in the spirit of good-neighborliness, brotherhood and mutual respect. In particular, over the past two years, cooperation in all spheres have become more active.

The state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan on March 22-23 of this year opened a new page in bilateral relations. Agreements reached within the framework of this visit are being consistently implemented.

Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan began the path of independent development at the same time. Today, both countries are entering a new stage of their development. At the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Action Strategy on further development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021 was adopted and is being successfully implemented. In his address to people of Kazakhstan this year, President Nursultan Nazarbayev defined the third stage of the country’s modernization.

Kazakhstan is one of the important partners of Uzbekistan in trade and economic sphere. Uzbekistan exports natural gas, cars, mineral fertilizers, textile, electrical, fruit and vegetable products, construction materials and other various goods and services to Kazakhstan. Petroleum, metals, flour, fats and oils are imported to Uzbekistan from Kazakhstan.

There are about 230 enterprises with participation of Kazakhstan’s capital in Uzbekistan, and more than 130 enterprises established jointly with entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan.

The program of the visit of the Head of the state to Kazakhstan also provides for holding bilateral meetings.
