On October 31, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary of the Russian Federation Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, who is paying a working visit to Uzbekistan.

The President of Uzbekistan, warmly welcoming the guest, noted with deep satisfaction the high dynamics in development of Uzbekistan – Russia relations of strategic partnership and alliance in recent years thanks to a regular and fruitful dialogue between the leaders of the two countries.

In turn, Nikolai Patrushev expressed his sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes from President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Current aspects of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, as well as international and regional policies, including the prospects for a peaceful settlement of the situation in Afghanistan, were considered at the meeting.

Particular attention was paid to issues of interaction in the fight against modern challenges and threats to security, expansion of practical partnership in the military and military-technical spheres.
