The Head of our state, greeting the guest, noted with deep satisfaction the active work and great practical contribution of the Ambassador of China to the development and strengthening relations of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries.

It was emphasized that the visit at the highest level to China in May 2017 and agreements of the leaders of the two countries made it possible to bring cooperation between Uzbekistan and China to a qualitatively new level, to fill it with concrete content.

Contacts at various levels, including inter-parliamentary and inter-regional relations were intensified. The sides are rendering mutual support to each other within the framework of international and regional organizations.

The volume of trade turnover is growing dynamically. As a result of 2017, this figure reached 4,5 billion dollars. Large investment projects are being implemented in the spheres of hydropower, oil and gas industry, modernization of transport infrastructure, creation of high-tech industries in various sectors of the economy.

Joint activity has begun on promoting important regional transport corridors – Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan – China road and railways.

Cultural, humanitarian, scientific and educational exchanges are expanding.

The Ambassador of China expressed deep gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

The diplomat emphasized that the Chinese side attaches great importance to bilateral relations, expansion and deepening full-scale cooperation with Uzbekistan.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, taking into account the huge contribution of the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to strengthening relations of comprehensive strategic partnership, handed Sun Lijie a high state award of our country – the “Dustlik” (“Friendship”) order.

Ambassador Sun Lijie sincerely thanked the Head of our state Shavkat Mirziyoyev for high appreciation of his activities and personal awarding with the “Dustlik” order, as well as for the all-round assistance provided to the activities of the diplomatic mission of the People’s Republic of China in Uzbekistan.

He emphasized that he intends to continue actively participate in development of a multifaceted and mutually beneficial cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China.

The awarding ceremony was also attended by leaders of the Oliy Majlis, the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
