Negotiations are held in an open and constructive spirit
Following the results of the meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founder States of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, held in the city of Turkmenbashi, a briefing was held for representatives of the mass media.
This has been reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The heads of states noted that the parties agreed to work together for overcoming the consequences of the Aral tragedy, improving the socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea region, addressing water and environmental problems in the region.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the Aral problem is an urgent issue concerning the life and future of the whole region, issues that have been accumulated over a long period of time were openly and constructively discussed during the negotiations, it has been decided to switch from words to practical action.
Proposals and projects forwarded by Uzbekistan were supported by the founder states.
