Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of PakistanOn February 12, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who is on a working visit in Islamabad, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Khawaja Muhammad Asif. It was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign ministers exchanged views on the agenda of Uzbekistan – Pakistan relations and on the interaction of the sides within the framework of the UN, the SCO, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international structures.
The sides confirmed their readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation, primarily in trade and economic, investment, transport, communication, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
It was emphasized that regular contacts between the business circles of the two countries allow to optimistically assess the prospects for the development of relations between the leading companies, the banking and financial structures of Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
The sides noted that the transition of the situation to a peaceful course in neighboring Afghanistan will allow more actively develop regional cooperation. In this context, issues proposed for consideration at the forthcoming international conference on Afghanistan "The peace process, cooperation in the sphere of security and regional interaction" were discussed.
At the meeting, the ministers also exchanged views on the schedule of the upcoming Uzbek-Pakistani contacts in 2018 at various levels.
