On November 5, 2019, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kadambay Sultanov presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Latvia Egils Levits, in Riga Castle, Uzbekistan MFA reports.

During the conversation that followed the ceremony, the President of Latvia noted that his country supports large-scale reforms in Uzbekistan, dynamically implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and expressed Riga's readiness to continue contributing to the reform efforts of Tashkent.

Views were exchanged on the agenda of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia, a wide range of issues of cooperation within regional and international multilateral structures, including the European Union, the UN and prospects for regional development in Central Asia. Special emphasis was placed on strengthening people-to-people ties. Prospects of further development of cooperation in education were noted.
