Islam Karimov receives 88.1% votes at presidential elections

According to preliminary results of the elections of the President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov received 88.1% of the votes.

This was announced by the chairman of the Central Election Commission Mirzo-Ulugbek Abdusalomov at the briefing for journalists in Tashkent on Monday evening.

The preliminary results showed that Islam Karimov received 13,008,357 votes (88.1%), Asliddin Rustamov 468,064 votes (3.17%), Akmal Saidov 420,815 (2.85%) and Diloram Tashmuhamedova 434,111 votes (2.94%).
