Tashkent to host Cultural Heritage Week under this title.
At the press conference, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov noted that this is a unique event not only for Central Asia, but also for the entire Eurasian continent. The event is attended by famous scientists, experts and people who are interested in Uzbekistan and its cultural heritage.
Part of the events of Cultural Heritage Week will be devoted to popularization of enlightened Islam. Participants will visit the Center of Islamic Civilization under construction, monuments in Bukhara, Termez and Samarkand. A tour, dedicated to inscriptions on archaeological monuments of Samarkand and a conference dedicated to Islamic civilization “Light from time immemorial” will be organized.
Doctor of Historical Sciences, Deputy Director for Research at the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography – the Kunstkamera in Saint Petersburg Yefim Rezvan shared his expectations from the coming Week.
Organizers are confident that the event will become another step towards solving the common task – to study and preserve Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage.
