“TURKSOY – Uzbekistan” presented in Tashkent
The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan held an online presentation of “TURKSOY – Uzbekistan” book.
The event was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, Secretary General of TURKSOY Dusen Kasseinov, Chief Advisor to the President of the Republic of Turkey Yalchin Topchu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Turkey Alisher Azamkhujayev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Uzbekistan Mehmet Süreyya Er, Chairman of Uzbekistan – Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Osman Mesten, Deputy Head of Department for Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Emir Salim Yüksel.
The publication provides information about the significance of forums and festivals held in connection with the announcement of the city of Khiva as the capital of culture of the Turkic world in 2020. The book also contains materials about great personalities of Turkic peoples, great contribution to the Turkic poetry and art of great Alisher Navoi, famous representative of Uzbek literature Abdulla Kadiri, representatives of new Uzbek literature, poet Shukrullo.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Turkey Alisher Azamkhujayev noted that Khiva as the capital of culture of the Turkic world will promote traditions of Uzbekistan people and tourism potential of the country. Mutual communication in culture and art will strengthen friendship of fraternal peoples.
Excerpts from Erkin Vakhidov's “Uzbegim” poem were recited at the event, artists of the Turkic States performed songs about Khiva.
