The Festival of Fine and Applied Arts, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of Uzbekistan, started in Tashkent.The opening, held at the Central Exhibition Hall of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, embassies and international organizations in our country, creative organizations, art critics, professors, teachers, artists, craftsmen, and youth.
The chairman of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan Akmal Nuriddinov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in our country Sun Lizi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovakia Ivan Pavol and others noted that under the leadership of President Islam Karimov special attention is given to the development of culture and art in Uzbekistan, full support creative people.
At the traditional festival of fine and applied art will be demonstrated the rich heritage of our people, current trends and developments in the field. The work of young artists will be analysed, the necessary assistance and consultation will be provided.
The creative competitions as "Best Educational Institution", "Best Mentor", "Best Direction of Fine Arts", and «Best Exhibition" will contribute to the further development of art education, promotion of best practices. Workshops of talented artists, sculptors, craftsmen will enrich students' knowledge of the fine arts. For nearly two thousand creative works of youth will be demonstrated at the exhibitions.
On the first day of the Festival of Fine and Applied Arts was held the presentation of the exhibition, dedicated to the Year of Healthy Mother and Child. It showcased the work of teachers of educational institutions of arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and regions. Part of the Central Exhibition Hall was reserved for the exhibition of creative works of foreign artists, organized with the support of the embassies. At the Kamoliddin Behzod Memorial Garden-Museum were organized - conference devoted to the stages of development of the fine arts of our country, and workshops with the participation of academics, artists.
