Overpowering beauty of carpets
The State Museum of Applied Art and Handicraft History organized the Beauty of Carpets exhibition.
Over 30 samples of the XIX-XXI centuries carpet collections stored in the museum, created in Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Jizzakh, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Andijan and Karakalpakstan, are presented at the exhibition. It is noteworthy that our grandmothers, mothers and sisters were mainly engaged in this kind of national handicraft.
Unique carpets, representing national identity, introduce the future generation to the history, strengthen feelings of recognition and respect for the national values, traditions and customs. The samples of carpet weaving presented at the exhibition are distinguished by their originality and reflect the continuity of our traditions.
A master class on tapestry art was held within the framework of the exhibition.
