The CIS Executive Committee in Minsk hosted a meeting of the working group on development of the draft Regulation on the Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage of the CIS Member States.

The CIS Executive Committee in Minsk hosted a meeting of the working group on development of the draft Regulation on the Virtual Museum of Cultural Heritage of the CIS Member States, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee.

Experts recognized the relevance and importance of the idea of developing cultural cooperation between the CIS countries in the virtual sphere and supported the initiative proposed by Uzbekistan on creating a single Internet resource.

Having considered the draft concept of a virtual museum developed by the Uzbek side, the working group noted the high level of elaboration of the document.

Participants of the meeting came to the conclusion that it is advisable to expand the draft concept by creating sections within the framework of the Internet portal “Virtual Museum of the Cultural Heritage of the CIS Member States” that refer to specialized national Internet resources, as well as placing banners (links) to the Virtual Museum on them.

Uzbek side expressed willingness to take on the functions of the developer and administrator of the online portal of the virtual museum.

It was decided to hold the next meeting of the working group in May 2020. All materials of the meeting will be sent to members of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of the CIS Member States.

The initiative to create the Virtual Museum belongs to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The project aims at combining the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the CIS Member States under a single virtual museum on the Internet, where the most interesting cultural heritage sites will be presented.
