Astana Ballet to perform on the stage of Navoi Theater
Artists of Kazakhstan's famous collective will present their best works within the framework of the Year of Kazakhstan in Uzbekistan.

According to the Press Service of the State Academic Grand Theater of Uzbekistan named after Alisher Navoi, on August 22, the Theater team will show on its stage the program in interpretation of Aigul Tati and Mukaram Avahri – Legacy of the Great Steppe. The concert program has become a kind of visit card of the theater at home and abroad. The unique plastic design, conciseness and at the same time the melodiousness of the poses of the performers in A.Tati's performances possess attractive force and are the pearls of the Kazakh folk dance.

In the following days, the theater’s tour poster will be decorated with famous The Legend of Love, a ballet in three acts, created by Yuri Grigorovich. The Legend of Love is a fairy tale whose roots go to centuries’ depth. It was born in the sun-burnt ground of the East and more than once became an object of literary workings. The plot is based on an ancient eastern legend. Two sisters – Mekhmene Banu and Shirin – passionately fall in love with court painter Ferkhad. Shirin immediately conquers the heart of a beautiful young man, and mutual love for Mekhmena Banu is impossible: she once sacrificed her beauty to save her sister's life and turned into a terrible old woman. The lovers who have escaped from the palace are in for an ordeal, and Ferkhad sacrifices his love for the salvation of the people.

Astana Ballet Theater was founded in 2012 on the initiative of the First President Nursultan Nazarbayev. The first performance of the Theater took place in July 2013 and it became clear immediately: the audience accepted the theater and fell in love. Today the team has thousands of fans not only in Kazakhstan, but also abroad. The unique multi-genre repertoire of the Theater is constantly replenished with masterpieces of world and national classics, original choreographic performances. The Theater team performed on famous stages of Russia, China, the United States, Azerbaijan, France, Italy, Belarus, Belgium, Japan and Poland.
