“Yangi Avlod” children’s festival starts

The final stage of the national children’s creativity festival “Yangi Avlod 2009” (“New Generation”) started in Tashkent.

The event is being held by the Fund “Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan” jointly with Kamolot youth movement and the Public Education Ministry.

The traditional festival plays a big role in identifying the new generation of talents and promoting them both within the country and on the international level.

Thousands of boys and girls from all over Uzbekistan participated in the preliminary stages of the festival.

They demonstrated their talent in areas like classic music, playing national instruments, solo performance, fine and applied arts.

700 of them received the opportunity to participate in the final stage of the “Yangi Avlod” festival.

In the framework of the festival, an exhibition of works of its participants will be organized at the Tashkent House of Photography.

The winners of this year’s “Yangi Avlod” will be awarded at a ceremony on 17 November.
