Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan Business Council Meeting
Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan have held a meeting of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan Business Council, via videoconference.
On October 7, 2020, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan held a meeting of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan Business Council, via videoconference.
The event was attended by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldy Rejepov.
Cooperation issues in industry and transport, textile industry, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, as well as agriculture between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were discussed at the event. Developing business contacts between the two countries by facilitating the search for partners and holding B2B meetings during the difficult period in the world economy caused by the coronavirus pandemic were also considered.
Main promising sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy were also presented. The Turkmen side was informed about the results of economic reforms carried out in Uzbekistan and favorable conditions created for investment and doing business in the country.
The Turkmen side highly appreciated the pace of socio-economic development of Uzbekistan over the past three years and the country's activity in expanding trade-economic relations with foreign countries.
