Uzbekistan delegation attends ECO Council of Ministers Meeting

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Nematov attended the 24th ECO Council of Ministers Meeting in Antalya, Turkey.
Heads of Foreign Ministries of Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey also attended the event.
According to Uzbekistan MFA, current issues of the organization's activities in such important areas of cooperation as transport-transit communications, prospects for expanding mutual trade, tourist exchange, as well as investment cooperation were discussed at the meeting.
Head of Uzbekistan delegation familiarized participants with main provisions of the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan for 2017-2021 adopted by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, activities carried out in the country on increasing the investment attractiveness, developing tourism infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for foreign investors, reforming leading sectors of the economy. Special emphasis was placed on the opportunities opening up in this regard to strengthen and expand cooperation within the ECO in trade-economic, investment, tourism and other spheres.
Antalya Communique was adopted following the meeting.
