A meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Uzbekistan Gunter Overfeld was held at “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association.

A meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Uzbekistan Gunter Overfeld was held at “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association.

Within the framework of the meeting, issues of expanding bilateral cooperation and plans for the future were considered. Thus, together with German companies, 1 investment (4 million USD), 3 framework agreements and 6 export contracts (2.5 million USD) were signed for a total amount of about $6.5 million.

Issues of increasing the export of finished textile products to the European market through certification in cooperation with European scientific research institutes were discussed.

Currently, “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association together with the Hohenstein Institute is working on a project of creating scientific laboratories on the territory of Uzbekistan. On May 17, 2018 a Memorandum of Cooperation and a roadmap to it for implementation of these goals were signed between “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association, the “Uzstandard” Agency and Hohenstein Institute.

During the negotiations, issues of developing a program of technical assistance and transfer of knowledge in the field of textile production, dyeing, finishing, design, and others were also discussed.
