Turkic states’ entrepreneurs gather in Tashkent

The event was organized within the framework of the initiative forwarded by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the summit, which was held in September 2018 in Chulpan ota. They were attended by about 300 representatives of business circles of the Member States of the Turkic Business Council, from the Uzbek side-more than 200 representatives of ministries and agencies, industrial associations and entrepreneurs.
Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Adkham Ikramov welcomed all guests, forum participants and noted the potential of the Turkic Business Council as an effective regional structure that promotes the development of practical cooperation, primarily in such areas as trade, investment, innovation, transport, tourism, cultural-humanitarian sphere.
In his speech, Secretary General of Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev highly appreciated the large-scale transformations in state and public administration, economic liberalization, improvement of business environment and investment climate in Uzbekistan.
The Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States is an international organization that unites modern Turkic States and promotes the development of comprehensive cooperation between them.
Currently, four states are members of the Council: Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. Hungary has observer status. The structure of the organization consists of the Council of Heads of State, the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Committee of Senior Officials, the Council of Elders of Turkic-Speaking States and Secretariat, located in Istanbul.
Issues of further development of trade-economic and business cooperation, strengthening of regional cooperation in trade, industry and entrepreneurship between the Member States of the Turkic Business Council were discussed at the meeting. The main activities of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry were defined. The attention of the countries was focused on interregional cooperation.
The parties discussed the accession of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan to the Turkic Chamber of Commerce. It is planned to sign the relevant multilateral memorandum at the meeting of members of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce within the framework of the 7th summit of the Turkic Business Council in Baku on October 14-15, 2019. This will contribute to creation of an enabling environment for trade and investment, simplification of financial and banking operations, customs and transit procedures for gradual transition to free movement of goods, capital, services and technologies.
At the Investment and Business Forum, participants became familiar with large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan, measures taken to liberalize the economy and currency market, improve the business environment, support business, protect the rights and legitimate interests of entrepreneurs, and increase the investment attractiveness of the country's economy.
