System for training qualified personnel for textile industry develops
“Uztuqimachiliksanoat” (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association organized a press conference at the National Press Center of Uzbekistan on “Development of a system for training qualified personnel for the textile and clothing-knitwear industries”.
On June 19, “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association organized a press conference at the National Press Center of Uzbekistan on “Development of a system for training qualified personnel for the textile and clothing-knitwear industries”.The conference was attended by the leadership of the Association, specialists of the textile industry, heads and teachers of Tashkent Institute of Textile and Light Industry, representatives of the textile and clothing-knitwear industry, foreign companies and the mass media.
As reported by the Press Service of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association, activities of the Association for the first half of 2018 were summed up at the event and issues of further development of the country’s textile and clothing-knitwear industry, development of a system for training qualified personnel for textile industry, introduction of innovative approaches in the training system and deepening scientific research were discussed.
Currently, there are 1,297 industrial enterprises in the system of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association, of which 316 are enterprises of textile industry and 981 enterprises of sewing and knitting industry. Including 30 large enterprises, 1,267 enterprises of small and private business.
During the press conference, it was noted that the issue of personnel training in the industry plays a significant role in development of the industry. New technologies require a radical review of the educational process in educational institutions in order to boldly keep pace with the times. The enterprises of the sector are acutely aware of shortage of qualified personnel, in particular, technologists and designers in the textile industry. Many large enterprises have to invite foreign technologists from Turkey, China, and India, Pakistan, Greece. In addition, graduates of specialized educational institutions do not show sufficient initiative in deepening knowledge, development of skills.
In addition, in order to introduce innovative systems in the learning process, delegations from among teachers, post-graduate students and masters of the institute are sent to foreign countries, such as South Korea, China, Japan, Germany, France, Switzerland for improvement of professional skill of teaching staff of the Institute with the assistance of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association and international partners.
International scientific institutes and employees of the Republic of Korea, Switzerland, China, France, Italy, Belgium, and others are widely involved in the process of training.
In addition, within the framework of the Knowledge Dissemination Program in conjunction with the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology (KITECH), since 2006 more than 100 textile industry specialists have been trained in the Republic of Korea, while over the same period, Uzbekistan was visited by more than 80 specialists from the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology and representatives of engineering companies of Korea, workshops were organized.
In addition, partnership was established with the Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI). With the assistance of this organization, since 2009, 10 presentations of the current economic and investment potential of the light industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea were held, as well as enterprises of the country participated in 10 specialized exhibitions, held in Korea.
In accordance with the agreements reached during the stay of the delegation of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association in France in February this year for participation in the International Exhibition “TexWorld Paris”, the first steps to cooperation were made, 14 representatives of the industry from May to June of this year were trained at the International Fashion Academy AICP, in Paris.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, 15 specialists of the industry underwent training programs in various cities of China. Following the meeting of the leadership of the Association with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Uzbekistan on June 15 this year, special emphasis was placed on further deepening cooperation in this direction, and following the meeting, the Chinese side assured that quotas for Uzbek specialists for retraining will be increased.
Following the meeting with the managers of Rieter AG company on May 15 this year, agreements were reached on implementation of the Joint Program for Training Technologists for Textile Industry. The Swiss company supported the project initiated by the Association. The head of Rieter Machines & Systems reported about the readiness to develop a special training program for young and talented engineers from Uzbekistan at the company’s plants in Switzerland, Germany, China, India and Uzbekistan. The Rieter academy, which started its activity in 2015 in Tashkent, provided a solid basis for training national technology personnel for the industry.
In addition, the issues of training personnel for the textile industry was also discussed with the Turkish company Dilmenler during the stay of the delegation of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association in Istanbul in April 2018, as well as the Belgian company Picanol launched a project on establishment of a Training Center for preparation of technologists.
