Chairman of the Association of Beekeepers of Uzbekistan Sh.Suyarkulov and specialists of the sphere made presentations at the meeting under the motto “Beekeeping in Uzbekistan: a new direction, new reforms”.

As it was noted, the resolution of the President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures of further development of beekeeping industry in the republic” of October 16, 2017 is an important factor in development of the sphere at a new stage.

On the basis of this document, the activity on organizing bee breeding on a scientific basis, increasing the efficiency of beekeeping enterprises’ activities, further increasing the volume of production and types of honey products, introducing modern technologies, increasing the export potential of the industry has begun.

Currently there are about 13 thousand beekeeping entities in Uzbekistan. In the current year, beekeepers of our country received 15 thousand tons of honey and honey products. It is assumed that by 2021 this figure will exceed 23 thousand tons. Necessary conditions are created for this, new technologies are attracted to the sphere, scientific searches are continuing. In particular, the Association of Beekeepers of Uzbekistan is implementing measures on systemic organization of technological process for the production of honey products, raising the packages of bees and strengthening the fodder base, rational use of natural resources.

“Aloqabank” joint-stock commercial bank is taking an active part in this process.

– 36 billion sums of soft loans have been allocated for the development of beekeeping in our country, – says Chairman of the Board of “Aloqabank” joint-stock commercial bank K.Irisbekova. – These funds are mainly directed to such purposes as the increase of hives, processing and packaging of products, introduction of advanced technologies into the sphere.

Demand for our honey products abroad is also growing. This year, about 10 tons of honey were exported for the first time. It is expected that this figure will increase sharply in the coming years.

– So, we should expand the production volumes of high-quality honey, – says the Chairman of the Association of Beekeepers of Uzbekistan Sh.Suyarkulov. – First of all, it is necessary to establish training for this. We are planning to organize directions for beekeeping in higher education institutions of an agricultural profile.

Plans for the perspective of the Association of Beekeepers of Uzbekistan were discussed at the event. Actual tasks of the association include the entry into the International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations “Apimondia”, rendering legal and financial assistance to beekeepers, further increasing the export volume.
