The Agency is ready to support the Government of Uzbekistan in implementing the most part of activities of the initial phase of this process under the Project on Competitiveness, Trade and Jobs Activity (CTJ). In this regard, USAID proposed a list of steps for Uzbekistan’s accession to the organization, among which one of the key is the preparation of an updated Memorandum on foreign trade regime – a document that fully reflects the current situation regarding the political, economic and legal systems of Uzbekistan.

As reported by the Ministry for Foreign Trade, the USAID is also ready to provide technical assistance to the Government of Uzbekistan. CTJ, according to the Agency, can provide a team of international and local experts, led by the authoritative expert on accession to the WTO, Mr. Jovan Jekic, who contributed to successful entry of several newly acceded countries to the WTO.
