At the meeting, prospects for possible cooperation between the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, commercial banks and the Interstate Bank were discussed.

“We are very pleased to visit Uzbekistan and are interested in intensifying the dialogue. Moscow took a course on creation of financial centers. The idea of creating an international financial center within the CIS is relevant, and we see that Uzbekistan in terms of volume and turnover of capital can become a financial center in the CIS. We hope for speedy implementation of ideas”, – said Igor Suvorov, President of the Interstate Bank, during the negotiations.

Participants of the negotiations were informed about the current activities and ongoing projects of the Interstate Bank.

At the meeting, prospects for possible cooperation between the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, commercial banks and the Interstate Bank were discussed. In particular, the possibility of opening mutual correspondent accounts in the national currencies of the CIS countries was discussed as the first steps to establish cooperation.

Within the framework of the meeting, current issues of financial industry, development of digital economy, introduction of financial technologies, monetary policy and prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation were discussed.

According to the Ministry of Finance, views were exchanged on a wide range of issues in the area of expanding cooperation in trade, economic, technological spheres, as well as the insurance market.

At the meeting, issues related to opportunities for establishing direct contacts and deepening cooperation between public and private banks were also discussed.

The sides noted the efficiency, constructiveness, openness of the dialogue. In order to implement the proposals in the near future, targeted actions from both sides will begin.
