Malaysian businesspeople visit Uzbekistan
On July 8, 2019, Malaysian businesspeople led by Vice-President of Malacca Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry – MCCCI Yew Geok Hui arrived in Uzbekistan.
MCCCI was founded in 1915 and brings together almost all companies of the state of Malacca, established by ethnic Chinese.
On the first day of its visit to Uzbekistan, Malaysian delegation was received by the Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Laziz Kudratov, attended the roundtable discussion together with members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as held B2B meetings with representatives of Uzbekistan’s business community.
Issues of further development of bilateral mutually beneficial trade-economic and investment cooperation were discussed at the meetings and negotiations. The Malaysian side was informed about ongoing large-scale economic reforms in Uzbekistan, liberalization of monetary policy, free economic zones, favorable conditions for doing business, as well as trends for development of cooperation between the two countries, including on ongoing investment projects of Malaysian companies in Uzbekistan.
Following the events, agreements were reached on considering the possibility of export of agricultural products from Uzbekistan to Malaysia, implementation of investment projects in industrial complexes for processing fruits and vegetables, as well as on production of modern building materials.
MCCCI delegation is expected to visit Angren Free Economic Zone and a number of industrial enterprises on July 9.
