Karachi hosted the 27th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Economic Cooperation Organization.

It was attended by representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Member States of the Organization – Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan.

Today, the trade turnover between the Member States of the Organization, the total population of which is more than 440 million people, exceeds 600 billion USD.

As it was noted at the meeting, within the framework of implementation of the Action Strategy for five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021, Uzbekistan has identified the establishment and further strengthening of cooperation with neighboring countries as a priority of its foreign policy.

Activities of the organization's sectoral institutions for the current year were summed up, proposals and initiatives on strengthening cooperation between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Member States were considered at the meeting.
