General Motors Uzbekistan JSC resumes car sales
JSC Uzavtosanoat studied pricing principles and validity of pricing for manufactured cars with the assistance of the Government of the country, with participation of representatives of ministries and agencies, experts, including international specialists, by analyzing opinions and feedback of the population.
Based on the results of the analysis, a difficult and unpopular among the public decision was taken about the need of increasing retail prices for certain models of produced cars by an average of 7.7%.
At the same time, retail prices for the most affordable and popular models among the population – “Spark”, “Nexia” and “Cobalt” remain unchanged.
Tough financial situation at General Motors Uzbekistan JSC and unprofitability of production of certain car models was taken into account when adopting this decision, but above all, it was possible to prevent a sharp rise in prices due to optimization of excise tax rates and reduction of dealer margin.
In addition, delivery of cars under contracts concluded before August 1, 2018, for which prepayment of at least 85% by individuals and 100% payment by legal entities is made, will be carried out at prices and within the terms specified in the contracts.
Feeling high responsibility for the adopted decision and the future of the country’s automobile industry, JSC Uzavtosanoat is carrying out a large-scale activity on increasing the efficiency of its enterprises, transparency of mechanisms for selling cars, expanding the model range and deepening localization, attracting new partners and potential investors.
