Ankara hosts Uzbekistan – Turkey business forum
Ankara hosted Uzbekistan – Turkey business forum on “Economic diplomacy in a pandemic: experience of Turkey and Uzbekistan”.
Ankara, in partnership with the ECO Avrasya, with participation of representatives of the official, expert-analytical and business circles of Turkey, as well as the Uzbek diaspora, hosted Uzbekistan – Turkey business forum on “Economic diplomacy in a pandemic: experience of Turkey and Uzbekistan”. The forum was also attended by the Minister of Trade of Turkey Ruhsar Pekcan and Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov.
At the event, a common position was noted on the need to strengthen bilateral economic ties by enhancing contacts between relevant ministries, agencies, business associations and companies of the two countries through the organization of regular communication and joint work both in the format of direct meetings and through the use of online platforms.
The head of Uzbekistan delegation, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov, speaking during the forum, emphasized that relations between Uzbekistan and Turkey, thanks to the efforts of the governments and business communities of the two countries, have a systemic, multifaceted nature, and noted that Turkey is among strategic partners of the country in the investment, trade-economic spheres.
Following the event, Member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Durmuş Yılmaz, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Chairman of the Turkey-Uzbekistan Business Council (DEIK) I. Ekmekchibashi, Chairman of Baktat Gida Ali Baklan, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey, who provided practical assistance in the implementation of economic diplomacy between the two countries in the context of a pandemic, were awarded certificates of honor.
